SAMI Cooke is one of the hardest working singers on the country music scene.

The 19-year-old from Young has performed more than 60 shows in 2015 and will play at Albury’s Bended Elbow from 8pm on Friday on her way to clocking 100 concerts before the year is out.

“I really enjoy my job,” Sami said, “My shows are based on audience participation, I hand out my songlist and get the audience to pick the songs, it’s a lot of fun.”

Sami released her first CD Every Passing Minuteon the eve of her 18th birthday.

When most school-leavers were thinking about university and careers, Sami was already on the road to fulfilling her dream of a successful music career.

She bought a van and hit the road, notching up the kilometres and concerts as she toured up and down the eastern states.

The music industry has taken notice. Sami has shared the stage with Beccy Cole’s, Tania and Ray Kernaghan and Bill Chambers throughout 2013 and 2014.

She has a tour of Canada on the agenda next year.
