After almost beating the undefeated Inverell side in the major semi-final, the 19-man side are quietly confident going into Sunday’s game.

Co-coach Ben Lonergan, who teams up with Nick Say to guide the side, said the team really should have won their last encounter with the Inverell side.

“They scored two tries in three minutes and we just never really recovered it,” he said.

“But we gave them a good run, so that gives us a bit of confidence this weekend.”

“We are the underdogs, but I’m quietly confident we can get them.”

The 18’s have had a mixed season but have really come together, especially on the training paddock, over the last few weeks.

“You can really see those results on the field,” Lonergan said.

“It has been a pretty long season, but we are coming good.”

“They’ve all come together really well.”
