Angela Maidment has a simple message for the uneducated: “Look at the person, not the disability”.

Walk With Me is an event encouraging communities towalk alongside people of all disabilities to get a better understanding of whatpeople go through.The volunteer worker said attitudes had improved, but more needed to be done.

“People are very quick to form an opinion,”Ms Maidment said, addinga lot of people assume someone with a physical disability also had a mental disability.

Walk With Me ison Friday, 11am, at the Civic Precinct.

Northcott Riverina regional manager Michael Merrylees said there will be plenty of entertainment at the event.
